Meet the Team

Ally Murdock, Owner

Picture
Ally has been training dogs for over 20 years, more than half her life.  She prides herself on creating amazing bonds between dogs and the people who love them. She knows that many owners try very hard to give their dogs the best lives possible and how heart breaking it can be when problems arise. She genuinely cares about you having the dog of your dreams. Ally is always learning more about dogs and their behavior by attending seminars, taking training classes, and reading countless books. The world of dog training is always evolving and Ally loves to soak it all up!

Ally started Onward Bound in 2013 offering private in home dog training. She soon accepted a position at a West Bend dog training facility teaching tricks and agility classes. Wanting to provide an alternative to the overwhelmingly compulsion based board and train options, Ally was one of the first positive reinforcement trainers in Wisconsin to offer board and train. After growing a waitlist of more than six months Ally decided there had to be another way to help busy owners get the help they needed. Jumping in head first, Ally started the day school in Spring of 2021 and has seen stellar results since! The day school
is the culmination of years of honing the craft of training dogs and coaching people, her two great passions.

Ally is a member of several professional organizations as dog training is a completely unregulated industry. She holds training certificates such as Animal Behavior College Dog Trainer and Family Dog Mediator. And a third party tested credential from the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants of Accredited Dog Trainer. Ally shares her life with her three dogs; Stark, Marvel, and Quake. They spend their weekends training and competing in agility, obedience, and rally.

Courtney Hansen- Head Trainer

Courtney has been working with dogs for most of her adult life.  She started taking classes with Ally in early 2017 when she added Ritz, her Miniature Pinscher, to her home. Courtney showed great enthusiasm, dedication, and talent for training with her own dog and often came to observe classes. She has become an avid dog sports competitor and can be found almost every weekend at some type of trial. Courtney has accomplished much and more with her dogs since joining our team including two trips to AKC invitationals, several Championships, and Grand Championships.

Courtney joined the team full time in March of 2021. She is always up beat and patient with every dog she meets. Courtney is responsible for the everyday training plans for all of our day school students. She makes sure everyone stays on task and their owners stay informed. Courtney is working towards her third part credentialing and is a member of the International Association of Behavior Consultants.

Courtney shares her life with her Miniature Pinscher Ritz, and her three German Pinschers; Valor, Jolene, and Karma.

Briana Tesch- Groomer, Salon Manager

Briana has been in the grooming profession for five years. Briana joined the Onward Bound team in December of 2023 when we moved into our Hartford location with a full professional grooming salon. Briana has been an integral part of the growth we have seen there and building our Monthly Routine Service. Briana is a treasure that all her clients value and we are so lucky to have on our team! She is working towards her "Fear Free Groomer" certification.

Ever since Briana was young, she had a deep love for animals. After exploring various paths, she found her calling in grooming. She was looking for a way to assist dogs while also maintaining a fun and loving relationship with them. She takes great pride in ensuring that the dogs feel comfortable and enjoy their time with her as much as they can. Her passion shines through as most dogs greet her with loose wags and warm hellooos. Briana shares her life with her husband, two wonderful little boys, a longhair Chihuahua, a Cardigan Welsh Corgi, a cat, a snake, and a turtle!
